Sun Babies (Sold)
Moluccan Baby, Buffy. A pleasure to raise their
babies, but our dear friend Barbara Rea no longer has the parents
together. This baby was a surprise!
 
Buffy at 12 weeks old being held by Barbara Rea, the grandma-ma
of this stunning M2. Barbara R visits us from NY visits to see how
we've done with her little surprise package. Buffy was an egg
laid on a makeshift nest on the ground in a wonderful bird room full of
loose birds and tons of toys! Its a bird paradise. So much so,
Barbara's two Moluccan pets went to nest amongst loose Macaws and
Amazons. They tended the nest, and still came up for kisses!
When Barbara thought it time to dispose of the 'assumingly' infertile eggs,
you can only imagine her surprise to see a baby and another egg
hatching. Victor & I couldn't make it to NY to save the
first hatch, but we did in time to save Buffy. And what a beauty she
is! Barbara R has since separated her Beau and Fluffy. Sorry
folks, no more babies!

PHOTO DIRECTLY ABOVE: Larry is in the rear, with 4
babies in the forefront. Larry helped hand feed from the age of 6 months to
two years. He regurgitated for the younger 'female only' babies. He
lightened my work and accomplished 100% accurate sexing so we didn't have to
test. I allowed him to do this until he was a little over two years old,
when he began having the desire to share more than a meal with the little
ones. Now at age 6, he has a mate of his own and is in breeding her at
AAP.
